Hi friends,
I'm Jim, a relatively inexperienced commercial pilot trying to make a career change work from software to aviation.
Read5.net is the software that I wish I had when learning to fly, especially when learning IFR.
I think as aspiring aviators we've all tried to improve our radio technique by listening in via scanners or websites, maybe in conjunction with flight tracking apps to help paint the picture in our minds. But it takes time to pull these resources together and to listen for events to unfold, only to then not fully grasp what was said before it's gone.
It's my hope that I can contribute to building confidence and proficiency on the radio.

P.S. I want to apologise for the radio coverage. It's OK but not great: sometimes ground transmissions can't be heard, and some stations can't be heard at all, because of where the receiver is (my in-laws' attic). I also don't have access to third-party data, which is why coverage is limited to Perth.
What it does

Replayable to the second
Air-band radio around Perth, recorded off the air and lined up to the second. Play several frequencies at once, skip the silence, and go back for the call you missed.
02 · traffic
The picture, painted for you
Aircraft tracks from ADS-B fly on a 3D map in step with the audio. Search for a flight by callsign or registration and listen to it from first call to last.
03 · the name
Reading you five
The reply to a radio check when the other station is perfectly readable. That is the aim: nothing said on frequency that you cannot hear again.
The radio is public broadcast, recorded as it was sent and kept for seven days, as is the traffic. Aircraft positions come from adsb.lol contributors under the ODbL.
